Birthday of Guru Hargobind (As per Nanakshahi Calendar) :Guru Hargobind was born at Wadali village in June 1595 and was the only child of Guru Arjan Dev. He was invested with the Guruship on May 25, 1606 just days before his fathers martyrdom.

Vrat Poornima :In memory of this mythological event, many Hindu women observe fast on Vata-Purnima day which falls in the first half of June. On this day women visit temples with offerings . A special prayer is performed before the Vata tree to propitiate the Gods for getting their worldly boons granted.

Snaan-Daan Hariyali Amavasya; Solar Eclipse :A Solar Eclipse is a phenomenon that has been widely chronicled in literature of all civilizations across the globe. This phenomenon has acquired a religious significance in more than one civilization. Among the Hindus, an eclipse is looked upon as a catastrophe and prayers are held by the devout amongst us during an eclipse for the sun to re-emerge from behind the dark facade.

Birthday of Guru Har Krishen (As per Nanakshahi Calendar) :Guru Har Rai passed away on October 6, 1661. Guru Har Krishan consoled the disciples. He asked them not to give way to despair but abide by the Will of the Almighty.

Vainayaki Ganesh Chaturthi Vrat :This is observed as a Vrat, in the evening after sunset and moonrise. The purpose is to get rid of obstacles or problems in life. Fasting during the day, worship of the idol of Lord Ganesh with 16 upacaras, offering of modaks (ladoos) and gifts are given to the Brahmins.

Goswami Tulsidas Jayanti :The great poet who composed the 'Ramacharita manasa'. His boyhood was one of poverty and suffering; but yet he became a great scholar. One word spoken by his wife brought him a realization of his true goal; he became a devotee of Lord Sri Rama.
