A RAGA is a particular melodic framework or underlying potential structure somewhere between two modes and scales.
Each RAGA is suffused with a specific mood (bhava) and flavor (rasa).
Tala is the music's basic material structure
Two main traditions of classical music are :
Hindustani School of northern India and the Carnatic School of the South.
Carnatic School adheres quite strictly to traditionally and indigenous rules and precepts.
