vivekananda..chicago..1893..religious parliament
Hi there,
I will appreciate if someone can help me with regard to the following
statement that was made about Swami Vivekananda, during his participation
in the world Chicago Religious meet (Parliament of Religion; 1893), by one
of the newspapers, following his delivery of a speech there. It runs as
follows: "He is undoubtedly the greatest figure in the Parliament of
Religions. After hearing him, we feel how foolish it is to send missionaries
to this learned nation". There were so many newspapers which covered the
meeting, it has become difficult to follow each and every newspaper in the
country.
I would like to know the name of the newspaper, the city where it was
published and the date on which it appeared, with the pagenumber, if
possible. Also, if someone can suggest me how I can search the Chicago
newspapers (Sept.- Oct. 1893), at the time, over internet?
You can post it in the alt.hindu or soc.culture.indian.
Thanks in advance.
