An American friend of mine is interested in learning Sanskrit. He has asked me to suggest books for the beginner. Could netters suggest some books for him? Please respond to me by email if possible. thanks very much, Prabhakar murthy@lis.stanford.edu P.S. The same friend also thought there was a pristine form of Sanskrit called "Shastic Sanskrit". I am not aware of this. Does someone know about this?
