Please note the dates in this post...
Sri Jayendra Saraswathi is the 69th pontiff of the mutt,
which was established here by Adi Sankara, who was the first
'peedapathi' (head of the mutt) from 482 to 477 bc.

Acharyas are wonderful beings, timeless, eternal in their wisdom,
yet as far as I recall do not jump BACK a thousand years before their
birth to install a mutt...
Sri Adishankaracharya is um about the 8th or 9th century AD,
or more aptly CE, but not `bc' yes?
