PUNE - The suspended Deputy Municipal Commissioner of Bombay,
G.R. Khairnar, on Sunday said he was proud to be linked
with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) "as there can be no better testimony
to my personal integrity".
"I am proud of the RSS and consider it an honour to
associated with the Sangh, which is synonymous with discipline and
virtues", Khairnar said, while reiterating that he was not affiliated
with any political nor subscribed to any specific ideology".
The suspended DMC was replying to a public felicitation accorded
on him by the local unit of PPS at the Saraswati Mandir Prashala premises.
Khairnar's 80-minute speech was marked by several conscious
efforts to avoid direct mention of State Chief Minister Mr Sharad Pawar and
referring to him instead as "ruler".
