SEVA Project in Atlanta

Namaskaar friends,
This is to announce our upcoming volunteering for the Hands on Atlanta Project.
Project Name: Christmas in April
Project Date: April 29th, Saturday
Project Time: 9 a.m. to approximately 3.30 p.m.
Project Managers: Christmas in April
Hospitality: Helping Hands, American Hotel and Motel Association
Project Site: Alternate Life Paths Program House
The House is located in the Olympic venue neighbourhood named
Mechanic's ville (approximately 1/2 mile from the Olympic
Stadium)
Project Background: The volunteers will be renovating the housing facility for
the alternate life paths program. This program provides
transitional housing for economically disadvantaged young
women. The program counsels these teenage women on finding
positive alternatives to illegal and self-destructive
behaviour.
Sample Volunteer Tasks:
1) Paint the house
2) Install porch screening
3) Landscape yard
4) Create concrete side-walk
5) Repair outdoor deck
6) Install new carpets
Skills needed: NONE!!!
VARIETY OF TASKS AVAILABLE! Skilled advisors present to guide volunteers!
Please wear old clothes!
TRANSPORT:
1) Meet at Tech Student Center Lobby at 8:15 a.m. and car pool.
OR 2) Go to Marietta downtown and take train/bus
OR 3) Drive down using the following directions:
Take I75/I85 South to Exit 89 (UNIVERSITY AVENUE). Make
a left onto University Avenue. Then make a left onto Pryor St.
(there is a Chevron in that corner). Go 1/2 mile on Pryor St.
"ALPP HOUSE" is a big, blue house(#827) on the left.
Note: If you reach Amoco, you've gone too far!!!!
