Re: Question on Rameshwaram
To my knoeledge, the second story is correct. There seems to be a sub
story to this. It appears that Rama sent Hanuman to get a Shiva Linga
from Banaras. Hanuman was late in coming and the Auspecious time (
Muhurta ) was about to elapse. So Rama askes Sita to make a Siva Linga
with the sand, which she dutifully completed. Hanuman was disappointed
and a little peeved at Rama's action. Rama asked Hanuman to remove the
sandy Ligam; he tried and failed. He then regained his senses and
composure.
