Few kiddie and Classic stories of Hinduism!
Hello every one,
I have scanned few selected stories from books. They are
Cradle Tales of Hinduism: ( retold by Sister Nevideta):
For kids (and young adults :-) ) Interesting moral stories from
India especially for the people of Indian origin.
Two tales from King Vikram and Vampire: These stories reflect on the Hindu
culture and Hindu mind as it was centuries before -- both ugliness and
beauty of our culture. I do not expect many readers for these stories
but if you read it completely please write me your views about
the stories.
The first story is about the wise people who recreated the
tiger from bones. I am sure many people from India must have
heard this story. But this is the original form! It also includes
an intellectual discussion of atheism.
The second story (eleventh story of the vampire) is quite
amazing. It is a prophecy in which it describes the white people
and how they will conquer India. Vampire also asks a puzzle which
Vikram could not answer! Interestingly the story condemns the future
generation, yet I feel quite fortunate to be born in this age !
It is interesting to see ourselves from the future looking back in
the past. Gives a intersting perspective! (Hopefully no one
finds it offensive)
Please read it at your leisure. (If every one downloads the
story at the same time, the computer may get heart-attack!)
