Bhagawad Gita Archives and Calvin and Hobbes

Dear Readers,

Many of you will remember wonderful summaries of Bhagawad Gita
by Jayashree Ravishankar on Alt.Hindu and Hindu Digest.
These summaries were excerpted from one of the books excerpted
from Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT).

Last week, I was informed by Jayahree that although she had
attibuted the summaries to the original book (and its author),
since she did not have explicit permission from BBT to put the
summaries on the net, she was asked to withdraw these summaries
from all archival sites.

Therefore, effective immediately, these summaries have been
withdrawn from our mailserver. We will also withdraw its
future publication on our Web server.

It is indeed sad to see this most requested item disappear from
the archives.

I cannot resist quoting this Calvin and Hobbes cartoon:
Calvin: When I grow up I'm going to be a scientist
Calvin: I will dedicate myu career to the proposition that man can reshape
the universe according to his own whims
Calvin: I'll probably go into genetic engineering and create new life forms
Hobbes: You want to play God?
Calvin: Not Exactly. God Never Bothered to patent his stuff.

Thank you, Lord Krishna, for not copywriting Bhagawad Gita.

regards,

Ajay Shah
