I am trying to find a definition for the word "Gandharva." It is used in a sentence by Jack Kerouac: ..."then the ever Gandharva-like, illusion-and-Maya-like dimlights of the portholes where some members of the crew are reading in bunks..." He is watching a ship sail away and reflecting on the illusion of experience, I guess, but I don't know the word "Gandharva" or what it is to be "Gandharva-like." I'm hoping someone can help. Thank you.
