TEXT: People connected to the Bombay Film Industry contend with much
fanfare that true secularism exists only in their film industry, where
people from every sect work together. As far as people working together in
the film industry, it is not a secret. Where secularism is concerned the
truth is that the muslims are appeased in the name of secularism, and
hindus are insulted every now and then.
The most recent example is film star Shah Rukh Khan. During one of his
tours to Birmingham, England, he was emulating Amitabh Bachchan on the
stage. In all his enthusiasm he flinged obscene abuses on Lord Shiva. It
was indeed pathetic that other stars who were present -- Saif Ali Khan,
Juhi Chawla and Raveena Tandon did not criticize Shah Rukh for this act.
