Re: vegetarism




Hey, who really cares if the rishis ate meat or not. This thread died a 
long time ago, so let's keep it that way ok. Hinduism does not say that 
you cannot eat meat, nor does it say you have to. If you want to eat 
flesh, then do, if you don't want to then don't!

Really, this is pathetic! Why the hell should be discuss whether it is 
right to consume meat or not? Doesn't Hinduism have a LOT more other 
things woth discussing, or are you guys just Hindu because you're vegetarian?

I mentioned this before and I'll say it again. Meat eating was 'arya', it 
was noble. It was not until the later Vedic period when the Asura and 
Deva split that meat-eating along with "soma" consumption was considered 
wrong. If you guys want to be vegetarians, then by all means, do, but 
don't press your opinions... It's not HINDU.
