Well, the chief codifier of the early days of the Gaudiya
Vaisnava philosophy was Srila Rupa Goswami. Let's hear
what he has to say about jivanmukta's
iha yasya harer dasye karmana manasa gira
nikhilasv apy avasthasu jivan-muktah sa ucyate
Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhua (1.2.187)
"A person acting in the service of Krsna with his body,
mind, intelligence, and words is a liberated person even
within the material world, although he may engage in
apparently material activities"
Note the specific words "jivan-muktah".
