Re: Bhagavad Gita translation diff.
The following word to word translation is taken from from the "THE BAGAWAD
GEETA" by Swami Chinmayananda. I hope this helps.
The meaning of Karshati is given as "Draws (to itself).
Mama = my, eva =even, esha = portion, jivaloka = In the world of life,
jivabhuta=having become a soul, sanatana=eternal, Manahsashtani=with mind as
the sixth, Indriyani=the (five) sense-organs of perception,
Prakruthisthani=abiding in Prkriti, Karshati=draws (to itself).
"An eternal portion of Myself, having become a living soul in the world of
life and abiding in Prakriti draws (to itself) the (five) senses, with
mind as the sixth."
