In article <3ste6j$a90@babbage.ece.uc.edu>, Vasudha Dillon <vasudha@pipeline.com> says:
Ancient seals form
>Mohenjo-daro show a *proto*Shiva. The figure has a top-knot, is seated in
>a lotus position and is surrounded by creatures, as befits him who is named
>Pashupati.
This has never been conclusively established, although it
certainly seems feasible to me. Until the Harappan heiroglyphs
are cracked, it isn't likely that we will be able to do anything
but continue to speculate about this.
