What I find all too often with Christians is that they profess love for
Jesus Christ, but then they continue committing sins with the
understanding that he will bear the burden of them.
This is not real love. Why would you want to make your father suffer for
your own errors? Would it not be better to stop sinning entirely?
Christians say that this cannot be done, but I feel that they are simply
making excuses for their own sense gratification.
The best way to be freed from the desire for sinful activities is to take
to devotional service of the Supreme Lord and chant His holy names:
Hare Krsna Hare Krsna
Krsna Krsna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama
Rama Rama Hare Hare
The Hare Krsna movement (ISKCON) has given this chanting to people
worldwide. Some of the most sinful and degraded people, just by taking to
this chanting, have become very elevated in spiritual consciousness,
giving up sins like meat-eating, intoxication, gambling, and illicit sex.
So there should be no excuses for not following regulative principles. By
God's grace through the Holy Names, one can transcend lusty, material
desires and learn to love God instead. This is the real perfection of
human life.
