Results and Analysis: Gujarat Civic Polls '95
Results: Gujarat Civic Polls '95
---------------------------------
Mr. Javed Ahmed Khan had a doubt regarding the BJP sweep of this year's
Gujarat Civic Polls. For his benefit the results in tabular form are
reproduced.
Civic Polls: Taluka, District and Corporation-wise

The victory is another feather in the cap of Shri Keshubhai Patel led BJP
State Government. State BJP General Secretary Shri Narendra Modi (a
former RSS Pracharak), who was recruited into the BJP from RSS in 1987,
is the principal architect of the sea-change in Gujarat politics.

[The best part I personally liked is as follows ......]
BJP created political history in the country as far the political
empowerment of WOMEN is concerned.
The State of Gujarat has now over ONE THOUSAND (1,000) elected women
representatives at various levels of the Government. It will go a long
way in the self-upliftment of the women in particular, and the Hindu
society in general. Congratulations to our Gujarati sisters, and the
forces of Hindutva!
This is nothing short of a revolution, but was done quietly. Unlike those
supine leftist (so-called) feminists, who don't miss a chance at
breast-beating at every occassion using the old worn-out Marxist cliches.
Likes of Madhu Kishwar and Brinda Karat are certainly turning upside down
(in their beds or graves?). Brinda Karat has developed a penchant for
degrading India and Hinduism, whenever she goes on '60 minutes' (CBS).
Someone should ask her now: What she (and her Delhi-based leftist outfit)
has achieved for the empowerment of women?
In the words of Shrimati Anandi Ben Patel, MP and Vice-President of the
BJP, "It is the endless efforts of the members of the Party, the Mahila
Morcha and its sister organizations like Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi
Parishad, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Rashtriya
Sevika Samiti, etc., that has born fruit in the form of the success of
1,000 women candidates." Disclosing the secret behind the great success,
she said that the women members of the said organisations worked in close
cooperation and understanding with the BJP workers and their active
participation had given a new dimension to politics in Gujarat.
"When a woman joins our party, the whole family becomes our sympathizer,"
said Smt. Patel. The women were initiated through conferences, informal
get-togethers and door to door campaign to take an active part in
politics, she revealed.
..........
BJP won all the eight(8) seats reserved for the Scheduled Tribes.
Of the total 38 reserved seats (SC/ST), BJP bagged 35.
So much so for Shri Kanshi Ram's statement that BJP is the "B"
Brahminical Party (he calls Congress(I) as "A" Brahmanical Party, which
no doubt seems to be true!). Kanshi Ram may well be advised to reconsider
his foot-in-the-mouth statement for the BJP. In Gujarat, his outfit BSP
was nowhere to be seen. BJP has overwhelming support among all the
sections of the society - FCs, BCs, OBCs, SCs, STs .... or whatever
classification the Marxist dogs and their surrogate Mandal-maniacs follow
in their bid to divide the Hindu society.
Not even a single SC candidate fielded by the Congress(I) won. [Proves
Kanshi Ram's contention about the Congress(I)].
Reasons for the BJP victory observed by the Media: Approx. half-a-dozen
election promises fulfilled within three months of its coming to power in
Gujarat.

P.S. The case in point with Mr. Javed Ahmed Khan was how muslims voted in
these elections. Although how the Muslims voted is not at all important,
election results in Surat and Ahmedabad corporations, two heavily
muslim-populated cities is an eye-opener (for self-styled Muslim
separatists and brokers of their communal vote-banks, that is)!
