The real position of Ramakrishna is vague at best. There is a small group of
people (some of RK followers) who claim that he was a Vaisnava (at heart).

I have heard some of the statements made by him (like the one above about SB)
which substantiate that but than there are things he said and did which counter
that. If you help 10 people and beat one to death, you are still a criminal.  

Add to that the misinformation, specifically impersonalism, promoted by his
disciples like Vivekananda which is as far from theism as it can be.
