Re: Any reference for creation of world?

In article <3kde1n$n3f@ucunix.san.uc.edu>, M1N@ECL.PSU.EDU (Mukund T Narasimhan) says:

>God and the actual world.

Evidently, Dr. Radhakrishnan had an attitude problem of
some sort.It would be interesting to hear his interpretation of the
following sloka from the Gita (13.21):

		karya-karana-kartrtve hetuh prakrtir ucyate /
purusah sukha-duhkhanam bhoktrtve hetur ucyate //

"Nature is said to be the cause of all material causes and
effects, whereas the living entity is the cause of his various sufferings
and enjoyments."

This sloka pretty clearly nullifies Radhakrisnan's first postulation
(about suffering); his second (inconsistency between this world's cause
and effect), is also untenable on the grounds described in this
invocation, found in the beginning of many Upanisads, such as the Isa:

OM purnam adah purnam idam purnat purnam udacyate /
purnasya purnam adaya purnam evavasisyate //

"The Personality of Godhead is perfect and complete; because He
is completely perfect, whatever emanates from Him (such as this world) is
also complete and whole, perfect. Whatever is produced of the complete
whole is also complete in itself. Because He is the complete whole, even
though so many units emanate from Him, He retains complete, perfect,
wholeness."

In other words, this world is perfect; there are no mistakes. Except ours,
of course. Unlike us, God is in complete control of the situation.

Since this is such a hard pill to swallow, many commentators take
the more appealing route and interpret the sastra as Dr. Radhakrishnan has
done; after all, he was a politician, so he knew the vox populi. But I
think his motivation is rather transparent, and I don't buy what he says.
