Times of India, April 29, 1995
Bombay: The Bombay police today arrested two contract killers wanted in
connection with the killing of BJP leader Ramdas Nayak and BJP MLA Prem
Kumar Sharma.
Joint commissioner of police (crime), MN Singh, said the two men -
Munna alias Mohammed Haroon Shaikh and Mohammad Musharaf Hussain Shaikh -
were arrested from Hotel Vaibhav, situated in fashionable area in
Hyderabad.
Following a tip-off, a crime branch team led by senior inspector, Vinayak
Kadam, along with four other officers flew to Hydrabad on an Air India
flight last night.
The team drove straight to the hotel and arrested Munna and Mohammad
Musharaf Hussein Shaikh early this morning, Mr Singh said. Both men had
prepared bogus passports in Hyderabad and were to leave the city for Dubai
tomorrow. The two men were brought to here this morning and would be
produced before the TADA court tomorrow.
The police said Shaikh had supplied the Fiat car used by the assailants
in the Nayak murder. The car had a concealed cavity for carrying weapons.
Munna on the other hand, was wanted in connection with both murders.
