I cannot estimate the number of Hindus in America (meaning USA). But we have
some estimates about Hindus in Canada.
Canadian Census (1991) gave the hindu population in Canada to be about 90,000+.
But the actual figures in Metro Toronto alone is around 200,000 +. There are about
80 - 100,000 Srilankan Tamils in Toronto, who have come in the last 5 years. Most
of them are Hindus. There are also over 100,000 people from Guayana and other
Caribean Islands living in Toronto area. Allowing that the majority of Hindus (or any
immigrant group) live in Toronto area, the Hindu population in Canada is definitely
not less than 250,000 ( out of 25 Million Total population of Canada).
