This is not correct at all.Saivites do not consider Vishnu and Shiva
to be on the same level!! They consider Shiva to be the only ultimate!
The problem is such sectarian claims as in this posting are illogical
and not supported by the vedas or by any scripture.Puranas from the
Saivite perspective talk of Vishnu worshipping Shiva and even that
Vishnu and Brahma as being created by Shiva.
God alone is and He is referred to variously. See Narayana Suktam
Sa brahma sa shivass sa hariss sendrass sokshara paramasswarat
( He is brahma shiva hari indra and is supreme and independent)
The oneness of God is to be appreciated. For upasana purposes there
are several approaches and methods. Ultimately when one appreciates the
fact of "pusha evedagum sarvam" (all this is purusha alone!-Purusha
Suktam) then there is salvation _here_( in this world and now).
Otherwise there is only illusion for ever.
