This isn't really applicable to Vedic Ceremonies.
One of the resons that the Dharma has survived is that it has
adapted. But this hasn't changed the Vedic Rituals. It has changed the
cultural ones. ie the ones particular to the specific culture
practicing it.
What you should emphasise is that she would like another version
that doesn't humiliate the female persona. Well, if you can show me
the current version that does, then I'll accept it.
Does she know that the Devi's are usually depicted as having more
power than the Devas. That the female is actually reverred in
this Dharma. One of the few Dharmas that has this feature.
Of course, what is practised and what is written are different. But
that isn't the fault of the written word. Just the follower.
This hasn't helped your initial request, but you should have at least
opposed such a silly idea.
