Wise Atman
This about Atman.Though Atman can be called 'soul',it is very much
different from the western definition of the word.Atman is the imperishable
part of all creation.The MIND IS NOT ATMAN.The mind or intellect tries to
comprehend through the senses(senses have physical limitations).It is misled
and deluded because it relies on the senses for perception.It is under the
influence of Maya because it thinks that there cannot exist any truth beyond
it's perception.Atman is God,which pervadesall creation.Only when we overcome
the limited intellect or the mind through the practice of Yoga or some other
method,we can perceive the truth or attain Moksaha(Unision with God,the perfect
state).
Contrary to western belief,Men are not born evil,but are misled by Maya
or delusion(Thinking that intellect is complete,Agnana)and do not realise it's
limitation and consider it as ultimate.The mind is limited because it is
conditioned.It is anchored to the past and it's decisions are influenced by
collected experiences of the past,stored in the subconscious.It is influenced
by emotions.Only by surpassing this limited mind,we can attain true perception
,where we act completely objectively and pefectly.
You are right in saying that the Mind is deceived.Atman is a wholly
different thing altogether.Atman is God,present in every part of creation.
MAN IS NOT A SINNER OR IMPERFECT.IT IS HIS INABILITY TO COMPREHEND THE
TRUTH THAT MAKES HIM SO.HE CAN ATTAIN PERFECTION.PERFECTION IS NOT THE MONOPOLY
OF A PROPHET OR A SON OF GOD.
