One could even take the view that we are all avatars. The difference
is that we each have attained different levels of awareness of the
Supreme Brahman within us. Thus some of us are more confused by the
Maya and are therefore allow ourselves to be ruled by our ego while
others recognise our divine nature and learn to Love.
Those who, throughout history, have been deified as Avatars are simply
beings with a great awareness of their own Divinity.
I appeal to all Vaishnavas not to take offense. This is not meant to
demean the belief that Krishna is God. There are many perspectives.
This is just one more. And nothing to say that this perspective is
more or less correct than any other. Only the ego self, confused by
Maya, sees differences.
Argument will not change firmly held opinions so I shall accept
opposing views just as I wish others to accept mine. Flame and
derogatory responses, I shall simply ignore. Sincere discussion on
variations, I gladly welcome.
Peace and blessings.
