I would like to emphasize that posters need not feel defensive
about posting Hinduism-related articles to soc.culture.indian and
other Bharatiye newsgroups. After all, religion is one of the most
important components of our culture. However it is true that ever
since soc.religion.vaishnava (moderated) came into existence, V. S.
Pai has been posting a message almost daily in the
alt.religion.vaisnava newsgroup (which is not moderated) urging
readers to post to SRV instead and to ask their system
administrators to remove the ARV newsgroup altogether by
"rmgroup"-ing it.

>From the above, it follows that the present move to reorganize the
existing soc.religion.hindu is most likely a device to ultimately
place Hinduism-related discussions under the control of a handful
of Vaishnavas -- especially those who did not wish to name their
newsgroup soc.religion.hindu.vaishnava in the first place!

I wholeheartedly support the above motion to withdraw the RFD for
soc.religion.hindu-reorganization and I agree that the proponents
have not produced the necessary support for their claims.
