Not to change the subject but to clarify it, many including Michael
Tandy have stressed that the Gita was expounded by Krishna in front
of warriors and not rishis. Therefore, Krishna means what he says,
simply that worshipping demi-gods, ancestors, and Bhutas is not
the same as worshipping Him. Neither does He claim that worshipping
the Truth through any of the thousands of deities(note the
difference between a deity and a demi-god) like Siva,
and so on is NOT the same as worshipping Him. Love is possible
between two people only is true. Therefore love between a Siva-bhakta
and Siva and a Krishna-bhakta and Krishna is the same. The complexity
of the above interpretations of the simple verses were introduced
by the so-called "great" acaryas, some of whom never had a vision
of Krishna.
