ARTICLE : Great Hindu scriptures and works
Namaste
One day, I decided to go back in time (about 100 years to 1880s) and have an
imaginary conversation with my great grandfather ::
1. Great grandpa, your grandson shall be able to speak with his father,
while taking a stroll on the road. Grandpa, this device, called the mobile
phone, shall enable him to speak with his father, in Kapurthala, Punjab
from a moving bus in Helsinki, Finland !!
2. Great grandpa, by using a special machine called the computer, your
grandson shall be able to "log onto the internet" and download information
from a remote site thousands of miles away !!
3. Great grandpa, by using special cards, your grandson shall be able to
withdraw currency notes from machines called ATMs all over the city !!
4.Great grandpa, your grandson shall be able to "fly in the sky" from New
Delhi to New York in a machine called the aeroplane in about 15 hours !
5.Great grandpa, the very best part; your grandson shall be able to fly to
the moon in a special device called the ROCKET !!!
Great Grandpa :: "Enough of this nonsense !! Are you on opium or hashish
that your thinking has become so severely impaired ? Are you out of your
mind to believe in such MYTHOLOGICAL machines??
I come back to REALITY - "modern times", just as the clock on my laptop
chimes 1300 hours; time for lunch and start THINKING ::
1. In less than 100 years, the planet has changed, without recognition, to
the extent that if our great grandparents visited earth, they would think
that they are on a different planet !!
2. .Our great Hindu works go back in time several 1,000s (in most cases
several 1,000,000s of years).
- Satyuga, Dwapar Yuga,Treta Yuga, Kali Yuga.
3. Why then, do some people describe great Hindu works as "mythical" or
"mythological" ???
Bottom Line ::
If in 100 years the planet has changed beyond recognition, who the hell
gives us the right to classify our great Hindu works, dating back millions
of years, as "mythological" or "mythical" ?
