I believe somebody sometime posted in soc.culture.indian that the derivation
of the word 'hindu' was in the brihad naaradiiya puraan. It is supposed to
have been derived from "HImaalaya" and "biNDU sarovar".

Something like that, Somebody kindly enlighten !!
