anugata-jana-palah krura-bhupala-kalas
taruna-taratamala-syamalo nanda-balah
bahu-kirana-visala-sarva-saktya visalah
sa jayati dhrta-malah pundrakodbhasi bhalah
"Glory to Him, who bears a vaijayanti garland and whose face is
decorated with splendid tilaka. The limitless rays of the Brahmajyoti
expand from Him, as do all potencies that exist. That boy of Nanda Maharaja
possesses the dark hue of the fresh young Tamala tree. He is death to the
cruel kings like Kamsa, but is the protector of those who surrender and
follow His orders."
