It would surely be as well if postings that have no purpose except to
seek dirt on specific individuals, traditions of worship, etc., were
to be disallowed from SRH. In an ideal world where all could discuss
anything they liked without rancor, there would need to be no
limitation at all, but in practice, such postings only vitiate the
atmosphere by starting a chain of outrage and counter-outrage, as one
witnesses at present. I believe Ken Stuart said something similar
quite a while ago, and his points still stand.

It should be clear to all that I have no interest whatsoever in
securing Sai Baba's reputation or sheltering him from criticism;
perhaps my views of him are as unflattering as one may find anywhere.
Even so, I believe such views are best saved for private discussion,
rather than aired in public where no one would even be convinced of
their justification simply because of the bad atmosphere created. For
this reason, I request the moderator and fellow-readers of SRH to
seriously consider taking up a moratorium on such postings.

Regards,

Shrisha Rao
