Definitely. He tells Homer about worshipping Ganesha, and
admonishes homer 'Don't offer my God a peanut'. Apu is also the fire
department volunteer and when Rev. Lovejoy call Apu's religion misc., Apu says
'Hindu, there are 700 million of us, you know'.
Apu is a strict vegeterian, btw, and he even considers people
who drink milk, cheese as barbaric.
