Temples of Prambanan

I just retuned from Java and a visit to these temples and 
the temple of Borabadure.  I am interested to know if this 
is still a living temple or is it a historical monument?  
How does the theology of this site relate to the Hindu 
teachings of today.  How did it interact with Borabadure?  
They existed at the same time ... were they in great 
conflict?  Any guide to more information on this subject 
would be appreciated.
