Yes, i am aware of this. Even by this argument, Dattatreya was an
incarnation of VishhNu. Therefore, why did He preach non-dual philosophy
if the non-dual philosophy is wrong ?

Exactly what i am looking for. It would nice to know this verse
[no translation or interpretation is needed, unless the interpretation
was by Shankara/Ramanuja etc].
If there is such a verse that implies :
1. VishhNu [with or without the others] incarnated as Dattatreya and
preached non-dual philosophy.
2. VishhNu, not satisfied with this, then "instructed" Shiva to be
incarnated as Shankara [though there is no proof of that Shiva incarnated
as Shankara] and preach non-dual philosophy.
3. The philosophy of Bharata, Ribhu, and Astavakra, all mentioned in the
VishhNu puraaNa preached non-dual philosophy.

Why should VishhNu go through all these trouble to preach a wrong
philosophy and misguide followers for centuries ? Why would Lord VishhNu ,
Shiva intentionally misguide their followers when they say there is no one
more dearer to them than their bhaktas ?
