The Equinox Celebration of Planetary Restoration

THE EQUINOX CELEBRATION OF PLANETARY RESTORATION
Beginning on Thursday, March 21 at 6:00 A.M,. Pacific Standard Time, an
individual referring to himself as "Hugh Mann", will undergo a 72 hour
continuous fast inside of a "veal" crate to focus attention on the impact
that meat consumption has upon our planet and its inhabitants. During
this time, he will keep continuous silence. He will stay blindfolded for
a great deal of the period, except when he needs to perform certain
activities that do not allow him todo so, such as communicating with
people by writing. He will continue this, without leaving the cage for
any reason whatsoever, just like the unfortunate baby calf, born and
raised solely and unnecessarily to be eaten as veal, until Sunday, March
24 at 6:00 A.M. His statement, which will be on a sign on the outside of
the cage, is: "I am silent because I believe the evil that we, as a
people, inflict upon this planet and upon its innocent inhabitants, is
cruel beyond words and speech. I am in a cage and I am blindfolded
because I believe that as long as sentient beings are ruthlessly tortured
and slaughtered, we, as a people, are in bondage and in darkness. I fast
for the millions of our sisters and brothers, who will die of starvation
because the grain that I believe should have fed them was fed to animals
destined for slaughter."
It will be conducted at Second Nature Restaurant, located at 4652 Mission
Blvd., Pacific Beach, in San Diego, California. Second Nature will be
open continuously for the 72 hour period and will be hosting a 72 hour
candle light vigil, 72 hours of drumming, poetry readings, letter
writing, petition signing, and lots of positive vibrations and positive
global intentions. On Sat. the 23rd, there will be a program of
important keynote speakers, such as David Jubb, renowned Raw Foodist,
Healer, Shaman, and Health Educator; Scott Wohl, "The Holistic Personal
Trainer", activist, writer and educator on proper, balanced vegetarian
lifestyle; John Finch, herbalist, author, and head of The Self-Heal
School of Herbal Studies; and many others (possibly including a few
celebrities and famous activists!).
It is being supported by the Farm Animal Reform Movement, Earth Save, San
Diego, Second Nature Restaurant, Peoples Market, The Green Store, Last
Chance For Animals, San Diego, The Vegetarian Association Of San Diego,
Club Veg Of San Diego, The Self-Heal School Of Herbal Studies And
Healing, People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals, Kelly Paper, and
Animal Advocates. We are seeking other sponsors of any type. Your help
in any way is greatly appreciated.
The beginning of this fast will coincide with The Second Annual Worldwide
Solar Ceremonies For Planetary Awakening, where individuals all around
the globe will be placing positive intentions to create a harmonious
future, in the frequencies of the new year according to the Mayan
Calendar, that begins each spring. Please send out positive thoughts and
intentions at this time, as well as sending positive and supportive
thoughts and vibrations to "Hugh Mann" as he undergoes this fast for the
whole planet. If you are not a vegetarian, try not to eat any meat,
fowl, fish, eggs, during this time (not eating dairy would also be best).
If you are really hard-core and find yourself moved and motivated by
this Gandhi-like example, please fast along with "Hugh Mann". Many
others will be doing so. If you can, please join us in San Diego at
Second Nature. Finally, here is a chance for you and everybody else who
is so inclined to finally do something for what you believe in instead of
just thinking, dreaming and talking about it. Join the Equinox
