Swami Murugananda Saraswati Visit/Availability

In the days of yore, the great in the land of India trod the lonely
path to the goal to have a direct knowledge of the truth, and the
path was not through colleges, universities, and ashramas. Today
we have in our midst, yet another of their representatives, in a
young enthusiast- Swami Murugananda Saraswati.
Swamiji left the security of hearth and home in search of the
eternal truth in 1971, when he was not yet twenty. Beginning in
the holy vicinity of Shree Arunachala mount he searched and
searched through the length and breadth of Bhratavarsha, drinking
deep at the fountain of knowledge of the supreme. His search took
him to Thirukovilur Swami Gnanananda, the holy abode of Bhagavan
Ramana Maharishi and thence to the Himalayan masters of whom pujya
Shri Swami Krishnanandaji and Pujya Shri Shri Ma Anandamayi had a
profound effect on him. Returning to his native state of Tamilnadu,
he added more flowers to his garland of knowledge from Polur
Swamiji, Mayamma and others and then settled down to intense
tapascharya to consolidate it all. He's been trying to adapt the
ancient wisdom to the modern demands and of late , feels the urge
to reach out to the needy seekers and parched souls. Over the past
three years he has been to Mauritius and South Africa giving solace
to afflicted families, giving radio talks, TV shows, holding
spiritual camps on week-ends and in short trying to spread that joy
around him. He has squeezed out the essence of the Vedic wisdom
and leaving behind the heavy prosody he dispenses it in easily
assimilated attractive presentations. Just to spend an hour with
him is enough to give one clearer vision, new dynamism and fresh
determination to face the battle of life anew. He is like a breath
of fresh air from the high himalayas instilling strength into our
very being.
The leading Mauritian daily, `Le Mauricien` of The Indian Ocean
island which interviewed him in 1993 described His Message as ,
`The Voice of India`. More recently in july 1995 he delivered three
talks on religion and spirituality during The World Hindu
Conference held at Durban, South Africa in front of a large and
appreciative gathering where President Dr.Nelson Mandela was also
present.
In addition to serving the needy seekers he has also been attending
to the trivial needs of many and sundry encompassing education,
medication and alleviation of the travails of poverty in general.
His ardent well-wishers and beneficiaries of this service have
urged him to form a trust in order to reach out to wider section of
humanity. Thus `The Arunachala Unique Mountain Trust`, came into
existence with the four pronged motives of:
Poverty Elimination
Physical Medication
Human Resources Development
Spiritual Illumination.
