Sir, this goes against what every traditional Vaidika
scholar has ever stated. Before the 1800s, the Vedas
were almost never written down, save for an excerpt
here and there quoted in the course of a commentary.
In fact, Vaidikas were averse to the printing of the
text of the Veda until this century, if I am not
mistaken.

It is stated that reciting the Veda from a book is
a great apachaaram. This just indicates that even
writing down the words was not considered a good thing
to do.

You then write about the date of the Rg Veda:

> internal evidence takes it as far as 23000 B.C.

What, pray tell, is this evidence? Can your provide
anything to substantiate this viewpoint?

Just looking to weed out pseudo-scholarship,
Mani
