Maya in Islam
Realizing that this is a Hindu list, I just wanted to share
an amusing little Sufi story that has more in common
with Zen than with much Western thought, but captures
the spirit of realization of the Divine without the
adherence to a particular dogma.
It concerns a Dervish who was renowned for his holiness. When
anyone asked him how it was that he had become this way, he
responded "I follow what is in the Qur'an". One day when he
gave this answer, one of the people asked him, "What IS in
the Qur'an?"
He replied, "Two pressed flowers and a letter from my friend
Abdullah."
