Sri Phatakji is a full time worker of Sangh (pracharak) for African Zone
and was very instrumental in organizing the World Hindu conference in 1995
in Durban, South Africa, where more than 30,000 hindus participated.
President Nelson Mandela presided over the conference.
Sri Yashvatrao Pathak did his Phd from Nagpur University and post doctoral
research work at University of Michigan and Wisconsin. He is a Pharmacolo-
gist by profession. He was a visiting professor to many universities at
London, USA, Mexico, Paris University and Hebrew University at Jerusalem,
Israel. He has visited more than 25 countries.
During the last 3 years, he visited several African countries and did
extensive studies on African religion, culture, traditions and literature.
He was instrumental in organizing a special session on "Comparative Study
of African and Hindu Traditions" during the World Hindu conference. Eight
papers were presented on that topic. A similar seminar was organized in
University of Nairobi, Kenya on the concept of God, rituals and family-
life in African-Hindu traditions.
