In honor of Ramanavami, here is a short discourse given during that
period by my Teacher, Sri Sivananda-Valentina.

RAMANAVAMI
Ram Ram Ram
Ram Ram Ram
Rama
Evening in the Garden
..The pragmatic mind of today's society is almost shy to accept
something which is so immensely simple as the Name of God, and yet this
is the shortest way towards purification and realization of the great
Reality beyond and behind the seeming things. When we repeat the Name,
when it becomes part and parcel of our mentality, we are producing a
certain rhythm and we simultaneously also are neutralizing many poisons
within ourselves....
Sri Ram Jaya Ram... Jaya Jaya Ra-a-a-ama. It means that it is Victory
to Rama, Victory to Goodness. And so if you are putting your whole
heart into it and realizing that the Divine is victorious and the
undivine is always defeated, it gives you perfect puri fication, it
enables you to surrender to the Lord. It teaches you a lesson of
all-embracingness. You become very gratefuI that the Supreme manifests
Himself in so many glorious and mysterious ways....
..Let's all join together in the Name of Rama and send a potent
thought into the Space.
Sri Ram Jaya Ram Jaya Jaya Rama
Victory be unto the Goodness and the Rightness! May this thought reach
everybody, everywhere. May it heal, may it unburden, may it inspire,
may it prevent the corruption and may it increase the purity. That is
our thought collectively. Om Sakti....
