Shabari was a devotee of Sri Rama, waiting earnestly for his arrival.
When Sri Rama arrives with Lakshmana to her Ashramam (hermitage), she
offers Him fruits. But before offering, she tastes them and then only
gives to Sri Rama. She makes sure she gives the best tasting fruits of
all she has to the Lord. Such is the form of Total Devotion of
Shabari. She didn't worry about offering food that has already been
tasted. This is against Hindu belief of offering "Eccham" to Lord. But
Lord accepted her offering thus recognizing the Total Devotion of
Shabari.
