Re: Prime Minister Seeks Sai Baba Blessings
I've just recently heard about Sai Baba, and wonder how
highly he is considered in India. I heard a recent
BBC film discredits his miracles of creations.
Anyways, those familiar with his teachings may be able to
help me with a few questions.
1. He claims to be a physical manifestation of god. By
god, does he mean something akin to the western notion of
god, or is it more like the idea of a person who reached the
ultimate level, such as Budha. In that sense, how is this
different from the concept of Budhisatva (sp?). Has he ever
commented on the role of Budhistvas like the Dalai Lama?
2. He says that love is god, and those that love god are loved
and helped by god. How direct is that help and in what form.
What bothers me is the thought that quite a few of the jews
killed in the holocaust were religiously very devoted and loved god.
I am sure that many of those killed in Cambodia or in other
acts of genocide were compasionate people.
These questions are not meant to be antagonistic in any way.
Thanks for any help,
Ronen
