avatAra is the parama-bhAva in vibhuti

Dear Friends:

The one who is the avatAra, outwardly is just another vibhuti
(manifestation), that included Sri Krishna and Arjuna.

vR^ishhNInAM vAsudevo.asmi pAndavAnAM dhananjayaH. 10.37

He said that even though He is unborn, He takes birth.

ajo.api san.h avyayAtmA bhutAnAM ishvaro.api san.h
prakR^itiM svAmadhishhThAya sambhavAmi AtmamAyayA. 4.6

He takes birth with His own mAyA, not under mAyA as is the case with
bhutagrAma (9.8).

vibhuti however is not avatAra, simply a body where Divine Power is
expressed. avatAra is the parama-bhava in vibhuti. He describes this in
this verse:

avajAnanti mAM muDA mAnushhIM tanumAshritaM
paraM bhAvaM ajAnanto mama bhutamaheshvaraM. 9.11

He also gives the reason why we do not recognize the avatAra or the
parama-bhAva in vibhuti. The reason is our AsurI-prakR^iti.

moghAshA moghakarmAno moghaGYAna vichetasaH
rakshasImAsurInchaiva prakR^itiM mohinIM shritAH. 9.12

May God liberate us and give us the divya-dR^ishhti to see the parama-bhAva.

Hari OM.

With best regards,

Dhruba.
