ANNOUNCEMENT: HINDU IDEAL YOUTH CAMP 1996
The Sringeri Vidya Bharati Foundation is offering three youth camps, each of
two weeks duration, between July 7 and August 17. The camps will be held at
the Sadhana Center, Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
The newly structured Hindu Ideal Youth Camp will offer a happy, harmonious
and welcome synthesis between the cultures of India and the West. It is
intended to help parents impart their religious heritage to children and
create among them an interest in and understanding of the rich traditional
ideals and values of Hinduism. The camp will be directed by a well-known
Swamiji from India who has inspired youngsters in the US and UK.
In addition to providing fun and games, the Camp will offer classes in
Sanskrit, Hindu Philosophy, Mantra Chanting, Puja, Yoga and Meditation.
This year the Camp will also conduct two new courses on Pranayama and Vedic
Mathematics which will speed up the thinking process in children. The
intended age group is 8-18.
The Sringeri Sadhana Center inaugurated its first two-week Hindu Heritage
Summer Camp in July/August last year. Attended by 57 youngsters and 27
Counselors and conducted on a 35-acre property in the picturesque Pocono
Mountains, the program proved to be highly successful and has encouraged
us to hold three camps this year. You may choose to attend one or more
sessions. The camps will be held:
Session 1: July 7 - July 20;
Session 2: July 21 - Aug. 3;
Session 3: Aug. 4 - Aug.17.

Camp Fees:
1-week Session .................. $400 per child
2-week Session .................. $595 per child
Deposit (due by 5/31/96) ........ $150 per child
To Register:
A non-refundable deposit of $150 per camper per session is required to
secure a reservation. Deposits are applied to the total camp fees; they
will not be refunded for any reason, (except for written notice by a
Physician of a medical condition which prevents the child's attendance at
Camp). Deposit may be applied to next year's camp fees. Payment in full is
also subject to this $150 non-refundable deposit policy.
