Actually, I wonder if a Shrii Vaishnava can say something here -- I believe
their chanting program is puruSha, naaraayaNa, viShNu, shrii, bhuu, niiLaa --
yet this is called pan~ca suuktam?

Actually, thinking about it again, it's only the first mantra that I
think is metrically complex -- it's the same as the one you said (the
other mantras in it are short, and on the whole, it's definitely
shorter than say the Purusha or Naaraayana suuktas, but longer than
the NiiLaa suukta). But then again, this only applies to KYV ViShNu suukta;
I don't know anything about the RV version (or even if it's different)
