question: statues drinking milk?
Hello everyone,
I'm sorry if this is the wrong group to post this to. Please
excuse my ignorance in this post; I'm not a Hindu. My motive for asking
the questions below is respectful curiosity.
Not too long ago I saw some film footage of Hindu statues that
appeared to be drinking spoonfuls of milk. What this ever investigated by
competent Hindu clergy? If so, what was the verdict? Also what would
prompt one to hold a spoonful of milk to a statue's mouth in the first
place? I look forward to your replies.
