YOUNG GIRL AND BROTHER TORTURED AND KILLED
A twenty four year old girl and her younger brother were dragged
from their home at night and were tortured and killed by the Sri
Lankan armed forces two weeks ago in the army occupied Jaffna peninsula.
They were taken from their home by the armed forces while their
father a popular Hindu high priest stood helpless unable to prevent the
danger that was going to fall on his children.
The Sri Lankan armed forces cordoned off Thunnalai village in
Vadamaratchi in the night on June 24 and were harassing the
civilian population in their homes. The unmarried girl Krishnapillai
Gethanjali, 24, and her younger brother Krishnapillai Rageswaran,
19, were removed from their home that night and taken to the nearby
Manthikai Army camp where they were severely tortured and then
shot dead.
