It might be better to completely reject all articles relating to the Sri
Lankan conflict, as a matter of policy, even if they refer to human
rights violation against Hindus. The reason is the following. The Sri
Lankan conflict is not Hindu vs. non-Hindu; it is Tamil vs. Sinhala, and
incidentally, non-Buddhist vs. Buddhist. Tamil Muslims and Christians
are suffering as much as Tamil Hindus are. If you accept an article
about violations against Tamil Hindus, in all fairness, you must also
talk about violations against the others. The least one can do is to
acknowledge the sufferings of the non-Hindu Tamils also.
Better still, leave it to the sci and sct groups to discuss this issue.
Most of us here read those newsgroups too. And news items about the Sri
Lankan conflict regularly appear in misc.news.southasia and on the clari
newsgroups. There is no point in duplicating it on srh.
