ARTICLE : SRH Reorganization
The removal of Ajay Shah as moderator of this newsgroup would be
monumental error. The given reasons for his removal do not seem to match the
experiences of most people. To me, it seems that this call for reorganization
has been given by a few people that want revenge for Mr. Shah's support for
soc.religion.hindu.vaisnava instead of srv. What's even more disturbing to me
is that these few individuals are using ISKCON's name in this vindictive,
vendetta-like action. I have always been a strong supporter of ISKCON; in
fact, I'm an annual member (and indeed a life member when there was no annual
membership). I'm extremely proud of ISKCON's accomplishments. I'm even more
proud of the efforts to celebrate Srila Prabhupada's Centennial this year.
That's why I'm extremely disappointed with these people who are really
besmirching ISKCON's image, especially when ISKCON needs good publicity for
the Centennial. I don't know if these individuals have official ISKCON
support; I suspect that they do not. If that is the case, the ISKCON
leadership needs to take action immediately. ISKCON needs to distance itself
from the actions of these people and make it clear that these people do NOT
speak for the organization. In fact, ISKCON should help heal some of the
wounds and alleviate the bad publicity by helping Mr. Shah stay as moderator
of this newsgroup in its current form.
There is no legitimate reason to remove Mr. Shah and from a moral and
even a practical (public relations) standpoint, ISKCON should take a
stand against this action. I also urge all ISKCON devotees who support
this action to rethink their stands.
Thanks,
